Halloween 2012 (And older)

I'm using up lots of my Halloween cards this year.  Some are newly made and some were previously made and not sent.  So - here we go.

  This was a fun brayering job, All Hallows Eve.

Froggie went a fishin"

Take a close look - he's so ugly he's cute!  The inside says "I may be green and slimey, but I'm all yours".  Took me awhile to figure out how to cut the two ovals so that everything fit together in the end.  The frog is sitting on a rock at the waters edge.  Grasses and plants are die cuts and are layered behind and in front of him.  The butterflies are all Stampin Up embosslits and the fishing line is my Home Made Twine.  Sometimes I just have too much fun!  This card can be used for a boys birthday, a valentine, Get Well, etc.  Or for a September card - don't look Jean!   It's a cute, versatile card.

Fairy Love

I love everything about this card.  The delicateness of the fairy and the flowers and butterflies.   It is a Digi image, so that makes for a pretty easy card.  Most of all, I love the saying "I'll love you until the day after forever....

Sympathy Card

 

I want to share with you a beautiful sympathy card that a friend sent, to acknowledge the loss of our beautiful 19 year old granddaughter.  This card uses a 2007 set, Happy Harmony.  It used to be a favorite of mine, but over time got shoved to the back of the shelf.  Think it's time to bring it back out again.  Thank you Heidi.

Oh dear, I have been a bad blogger again.  Afraid that I have gotten so caught up in Pinterest - wow is that addicting.  I'm so busy collecting 'cards to make' ideas, that I have no time to make cards.  Crazy.  So today I am NOT going on Pinterest - well ok, I looked at 3 quick ones - and I AM going to master my Movers & Shapers.  I have been struggling with a card (yes, I found it on Pinterest so see it WAS worth while) that uses Movers & Shapers.  Could not get my sandwich combination right so finally got smart and looked it on on the net.  Appears my machine is a little different than many, because it will not accept the full sandwich that others are using, but I have finally found what to shim with and how many shims to use.  Now if I can just get my layers in the right places - seem to keep cutting my shims instead of my plastic piece or the crease board.  The card is beginning to take shape though.  Lots more steps to go - including stamping, coloring, cutting etc but it is starting to look like a card.

Language Of Friendship

Oh dear, obviously I did not pick the best one for "Show & Tell".  Looks like I didn't get it properly straightened.  Furthermore, there are subtle stampings of the 3 flowers here and there on the lighter bluebackground paper and they don't show up in the photo very well.  Oh well, I had fun anyway.  This is SU Language of Friendship.  Oops,one last sin to fess to before I go further.  This card is a complete CASE and I can not locate the contributors information.  So very sorry about that.  OK, back to this card.  It is done on Pool Party (light blue) and accented with Island Indigo (darker).  Pool Party inks were used to stamp the (invisible in this photo) flowers in the background.  Island Indigo Ink was used to stamp the Flowers and bird, to accent them against the lighter blue.  The SU Oval embosslit frame was used, along with the oval die.  .  The bird wing and 3 flowers are all raised on dimensionals.  The punches used were the Bird Punch and Boho Blossoms.  Both punches are coordinated to go with the Language of Friendship stamp set.  I have left room in the lower right hand corner to place a word or sentiment once I decided how the card will be used.  It makes a very elegant card and was fun to create.
