I'm having too much fun...

with my new Window Die. If you can't be at the beach, a peaceful winter scene will do.

This scene was taken from a piece of scrapbook paper. The window was sponged with Caramel and popped up on the wallpaper background with dimensionals. That's it - easy peasy.

A couple of bright red cardinals in the white birch trees, with a soft snow sky behind. A smidgeon of Caramel sponged on the window which was then highlighted with the lightest greys. Acetate made window panes and then it was placed flat against the wallpaper background.

My dream was always to live on the water - a tropical island would do very find thank you! This looks out from the North side of the house. So peaceful looking at the Palm Trees on the nearby island. The window was sponged in Caramel and has acetate panes, placed flat against the wallpaper background.

Looking the other direction, at night, we have a totally difference scenescape creation. Nothing beats the sound of waves gently lapping the shore.

Flower Garden - Outside Looking In

There are slight differences between these two windows. They are cut with the PoppyStamps Grand Madison Die and are shaded lightly with Copics C1, C0, & 0. There are no window panes, and the windows are popped up using Dimensionals. This allows the vase of flowers on the table, just below the window sill, to move freely and provides good depth.

The fence and curtains are done with Martha Stewart punches. Notice the slight difference in the curtain patterns. The garden foliage is again using the MS Pine Branch punch - this time cutting them into smaller pieces to create the garden.

Flowers were made using either a tiny flower punch, or a regular hole punch. Both kinds of flowers are "cupped", again providing depth and dimension. The centers are created using a 1/16" hole punch - teeny, tiny and hard to work with.

Deer in the yard...

Windows in two different rooms give you very different scenes to look at. Both are on fairly dark, rich, wallpaper. This window scenescape was done in fall and shows the deer down by the water. The window is sponged lightly with Caramel, while acetate makes the window panes for this one.

The one in winter is off deer grazing in the yard, fairly close to the house. The scene is colored with Copics, and the window has soft subtle CO, C1, & O Copics to accentuate the markings on the window itself. Again with Crystal Lacquer for the window panes. This window has a pine sprig on top, made using a Martha Stewart Pine Branch Punch. The Berries are made using the 1/16th" hole punch. So tiny they are hard to work with.

In my dreams, this is my grandson fishing on the dock in our yard. The window was sponged lightly with Caramel and popped up on the wallpaper background with dimensionals. Crystal Lacquer smeared across the image with my finger made the window panes.

I have a new Die and am having too much fun. Pretend these are all rooms of my house (or my summer cottage), and you'll see what amazing scenery I have.

In between all the cupcakes, our granddaughter had a birthday and I had a ball with these cute little monsters. One thing is for sure, I have to shop for some more Crystal Lacquer! It is on the images, the cake, balloons, etc. They were all colored with Copics and a Copic Gold Glitter Pen was used on the floating stars. If it sounds like I have a lot of supplies.....well.....

Birthday Anya colored with chalks and layered onto a "Hey Cupcake" background. As with the others, bling colored red for the Cherry, Crystal Lacquer on the cupcake and her hairpiece.

Another card where the background paper is loaded with soft, subtle glittering. Her skirt is Paper Pieced. Crystal Lacquer used on the cupcake, her flower and headwear. The "Cherry on Top" is a large Bling, colored Red with Copics

Too bad this doesn't scan well. Think it's my favorite of all the cupcakes. The corners are rounded. Lots of Crystal Lacquer used. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart Punch. It had two butterflies punched and layered one on top of the other so that the top wings stand out, or, flutter free. The base paper has subtle glittering on the blue dots and speckles. Really a striking card.

These three pink ones look alike but in reality each is a little different. Can you tell that the cupcake wrapper has been "crimped" so that it looks pleated, just like a real wrapper. The 'diamonds' were painted pink with Copics. Also used some Crystal Lacquer

A friend requested a dozen cupcake cards, including some black/abstract style. I had so much fun creating these - want to do more!!! The silver used was gift wrap paper, the glittery abstract papers were from an old DCWV glitter stack. Thought they turned out pretty well. She was thrilled.

This guy was a MO digi. I did two of them but already sent the blue one to my teenage grandson and failed to grab a picture of it. I thought the brown tones and geometrics really went together well and were very masculine. He is colored with Copics. I cut him with a rectangular Nestie, leaving the front end of the skateboard outside of the rectangle. The white around the boy was sponged using Soft Suede to make it not so stark. The skateboard has Crystal Lacquer for sheen and the front of it is popped up. Pretty sharp if I do say so myself. Enjoy

Doilies, Doilies everywhere

Wow - I've been bad with my postings huh? Been stamping up a storm but not sharing the results. Will try to do better, yada, yada, yada. Had fun at a friends house, using the new Stampin Up Doily set. The card was stamped first in Going Gray for a soft background, then stamped & embossed with black. She had scraps of this fancy ribbon. The flowers were made with a SU die cut and run thru an embossing folder. There is a cute Martha Stewart punch used to make a black layer between the two white layers, and a fancy plastic button piece makes the flower center Fun and different for me.

This one was also done using Doily. Stamped & embossed with White, colored in a little using Brilliant Blue & Chocolate Chip SU markers. The papers are Kraft, Navy & Brown. The brown layer was run through the SU Cuttlebug folder Trellis. The "Thinking of you" was embossed white and layered on Kraft and Navy pieces punched with SU punches. Both of the 'picture' portions are affixed with Pop Dots. Enjoy

I am still taking Scenescape Lessons from Ken and am just having too much fun. This is my latest one. It is the first one I've done totally by myself, starting with a new stamp set, creating the layout, coloring with Copics and inks, etc., and I thought it turned out pretty good.

Anniversary Card for Husband

Since my husband never reads my blogs and can't quit figure out what a blog is and why I would have one, it is safe to post this creation that I just finished. I scanned it against a colored background so you could see that I have finally mastered the corner punching with the scallops - so simple once you know how. If anybody needs help, just let me know - be happy to share my new found knowledge with you. This was real fun to learn to make. The bird is punched from the SU 3 piece bird punch. Punch several of them in different colors, cut them apart and assemble the bird, sponging edges as you go. The branches are from the long SU die Birds and Branches. The hearts are punched from the SU 3 heart punch, the pink one cut down a wee bit to provide for a red margin and then stamped in red with a small part of a flourish stamp. The Text is SU. Hope you enjoy my creation

Oh what a fun card. This one is made using the Stampin Up "My Digital Studio" (referred to as MDS). Printed onto Winter White, framed with black c/s. Yellow c/s run thru the Big Shot using the Polka Dot folder. Glue a ribbon around it, Put the birthday piece on with dimensionals and attach (after stamping the Birthday Wishes). Attach yellow to main card base. Make ribbon an attach. Done!

MFT - Pure Innocence Challenge

I absolutely love the simplicity of the My Favorite Things "Pure Innocence" series. She is just so sweet. I wouldn't mind being sick if she was my nurse. The bottom half, red piece, of the card is done with the SU new Lattice Work folder. It's the greatest. The middle crooked plaid piece is just a scrap of ten cent paper I had laying around. (I'm so proud that I was able to find it LOL). She is colored simply with Copics (sorry, I didn't write down the numbers - only knew that my NEW E00 was dry and JoAnne's is sending me a refill - that should be interesting). This is a free Digi image given out by Michelle Perkett for a challenge to be done later. I am going to try to list all my Copic Colors for the first time so please bear with me. Skin: E31, E33. Flowers RV21, RV34 and Y17. Hair C1, C3, C5, C7 and a touch of BV29. The skirt was G14, G05 and G17. The Yuke was Y28 and Y08. The background was all sponged in and an assortment of other stamps were used to complete the scene.

Country Cottage

This card is just too cute but I don't think I'll be doing too many of them. Notice that it is complete with Window, Curtains on the window, door knob, rippled roof and stair steps. Now I have to find somebody Extra, Extra special to send it to.... It uses Vintage Vogue set for the vines and flowers. Everything else is punched and sponged, except for the 'ribbon' curtains. Enjoy. It's a real fun card, but very detailed and time consuming.

This years 4th of July card. A lot of stinkin' detail makes this one time consuming. It sure doesn't show how much goes in to it. I keep saying I'm going to pick a simple, elegant design, but here you go! This card does fit into a long, business size, envelope - so that is different and fun. Of course, you have to decorate the envelope also!

I can post this because Jeff would never read my blog. Jeff is the original computer geek, so there is no way I would ever dream of having more RAM or anything else computer related than he does - but I thought this image was great for his card.
The Image is by My Favorite Things and was colored with my new Copics (I have the last set of 72 coming - Hooray!). I masked and used the Wood Grain stamp on the desk top, then paper pieced the wallpaper and chair back. Cupcakes are from Misc. clear stamps. I just wanted to have something birthday-ish on the front. So while it doesn't look like a special card, there was a lot involved in making it. Thanks for looking.

Wedding Sweet

This version turned out to be pretty elegant. It is Silver Ink & EP on Metallic Silver Text weight, layered onto black and then layered onto Silver card stock. The subtle variations work well together.

This one used White Ink & EP on very soft blue card stock. Sure looks brighter blue here.

This one was done using soft suede. In order for the design to even show, I had to darken the background enough to make it stand out.

I borrowed this set, but am liking the results so much that I may yet have to buy it. I did up 4 different colors/designs. I don't know if it is my scanner or what but these were done in soft, subtle colors that came out brighter than the originals. This first one was done in soft coral color but sure looks like Hot Pink on Here. Stamped and Embossed White on Vellum, Colored coral and olive on the backside and then layered on.

I have 5 new cards to share today. All products used were Stampin' Up.

This first one used primarily the 5 petal punch (get to pick mine up tomorrow - hurray!)

My son doesn't read my blog so I show this. I am sooooo excited over this, think it is about the neatest card I ever made. Alas, as usual, the scan doesn't do it justice. It's a square card with a rectangle cutout. A picture has been printed onto (rough on one side) acetate. Mount the picture. Stamp your sayings. Attach 4 brads. Attach all the contrasting c/s, leaving 1/8" border all around.

You really have to use your imagination for this one. It is an awesome card but much of it is in lighter colors. If you look to the right of the cactur, you can see a little hint of color. That is, IRL, a soft celery green that was inked onto a shaped background stamp. A darker green was Direct to Papered around the edge of the shadow stamp. The shadow was inked solidly with white. A Krinkle type background stamp was inked with the greet. The inked White stamp was 'kissed' lightly onto the krinkle. The background stamp was then solidly stamped onto the c/s. Stamp the cactus in the center of that, in the darker green and emboss the whole thing with clear EP. Put Liquid applique on the cacti arm tips and on the ground around it. Heat to puff up. Sprinkle fine glitter over that. Using the darker green, we used a part of a Joshua tree stamp to make the corner pines. Apply a mystic EP (maybe like Hologram?) to the pines and heat. The pines will sparkle subtly. Rub any color stamp pad along the edge of the card, with the card FACING the pad. Dip into Gold EP. Heat from back side. When back side turns, you can turn over and get the front. This method prevents the embossed corners from being over heated. Repeat for each corner. That's it - have fun! Sorry I couldn't get the scan to come out better.

Now that my friend has received it, I can show her birthday card. Happy Harmony (SU) was embossed White onto the Watercolor Paper. I put a drop of Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, and Pretty in Pink on a plastic lid. I sprayed my watercolor paper to wet it and began laying the colors on with a wet Aqua Brush - I think a diagonal looks best. Layer it onto Black, White, and Razzleberry. Add home made "Dew Drops". Add button and/or bow. Stamp your saying in Black. Enjoy

Fishes Wishes

Boy, I don't know what happened here - this scan barely resembles IRL, but you get the general idea. I put an Ultra Thick Layer of Crystal Lacquer over the fish bowl from the water line down. Between the Crystal Lacquer and the Scanner, it really washed out the color. Even the tiny fish - they were colored lavendar and green. This is for my dtr and s-i-l for anniversary. Inside has wonderful verse about how/why God made two. It's so appropriate for them.

I don't know why this scans so terribly washed out. It is all done in pinks and browns but was done with chalk pencils. It has a great deal of color IRL. It even has about 1/3 grass and 2/3 sky with clouds. Hopefully you can get the gist of it. This is a KLM digi.

I don't think I showed you this one. Just finished making 12 of them. It is Silver on Navy. The side 'chain' are from a great Inkadinkadoo set called Chain Reaction that I got at my local stamp store. Had no intention of buying it until I saw it made up and then I was sold! Everything else is Flower Soft - the Blue Vase (crystal lacquered), the message tag, and of course the flowers. This was a fun card to make if I wasn't doing my typical mass production. Nail Polish Technique

First picture is the envelope, second is the card inside and third is the card itself. I swear I have been working on this card for months, and now...the Nail Polish technique doesn't even show up in the scans. Picture the rainbow colors of gasoline floating on water. That is what the black background piece looks like. The vase and flowers have Crystal Lacquer and they really popped. Everything is colored with Chalk Pencil and blender pen. Also, my Dew Drops are homemade dew drops. The scan doesn't pick up their sparkle either, but they do look sharp. The stamp set is a TAC Stamp of the month from a couple months ago. Thanks for looking.

OK, I think I figured out what was wrong with my scanner coloring. These are considerably better. This, again, is TAC Everything's Blooming images. This time they are paired with Dusty Blue (unknown) and SU Groovy Guava and layered onto wallpaper. Turned out pretty cute. Such an adorable image set.

This Cheerful Bird on his house went on the lower left corner of the envelope and on the card back for a logo. The Bird and Bouquet went on the back envelope flap and on the inside of the card. I don't know what's going on with my scan, the colors are not this deep. They are much prettier IRL.

Everything's Blooming

This Cheerful little gal is from TAC Serendipity catalog and is named Everythings Blooming. I've been working on these off and on for months. I'll post more of them later on - have made over a dozen so far. Every Dress is Paper Pieced from DP or wallpaper. I used LOTS and lots of Crystal Lacquer j- on her eyes, flowers, dress, boots, and the duck. My next post will be the card inside and the envy.
